The website works in modern mobile browsers, so you can master, meter and convert audio on a phone or tablet. The volume booster extension needs desktop Chrome or another Chromium browser.

The website works in current Chrome, Edge, Firefox and Safari. The extension needs Chrome 116 or newer, or another Chromium browser that supports Manifest V3 extensions.

Chrome has no setting above 100%. Add the SoundBooster extension, open the quiet tab, click the icon and choose a preset — 150%, 200%, 300% or 400% — or drag up to the 600% maximum.

No. A look-ahead limiter lowers peaks smoothly just before they play instead of clipping them, so even 600% stays clean. At 100% it doesn't change the sound at all.

Yes. Every tab has its own volume and sound settings, and you can switch off one tab while the others stay boosted.

It's safe for your computer with the limiter on, but not always for your ears. Raise the level gradually and be careful with headphones.

Chrome doesn't let extensions capture its own pages (settings, the New Tab page, the Web Store), desktop apps aren't browser tabs, and some protected streams can't be captured. SoundBooster tells you when that happens.

Mastering is the final step before release: balancing the tone of the whole song, controlling its dynamics, setting its width and loudness, and making sure it sounds right on every kind of speaker. Good mastering is often about restraint — doing only what the song needs.

You can describe the sound you want in plain words, choose from six engineers with genuinely different processing, and compare every revision at matched loudness so you judge the tone rather than the volume. The processing runs on your own device.

Export a WAV at your session's sample rate, ideally 24-bit, with peaks around −6 to −3 dBFS and no limiter on the master bus. Fix mix problems — a buried vocal, a boomy bass — in the mix, because mastering works on the whole song at once.

Instead of turning knobs, you type or say what you want — for example “punchier drums, clearer vocals” — and SoundBooster turns it into mastering settings and renders a new revision. You can keep refining with more requests.

Usually a minute or two. Uploading and rendering happen in your browser, so a revision is ready as soon as your computer finishes processing it.

Yes. Every setting is open in Advanced controls — intensity, loudness target, bass, treble, width, compression, warmth, limiter ceiling and a five-band EQ — and you can undo, redo and compare every revision.

Check it on small speakers with the speaker simulation tool, keep true peaks around −1 dBTP, and use the loudness penalty tool to see how streaming services will play it.

Be specific about what to change and what to keep: “more low-end punch but keep the vocals smooth” works better than “make it better”. Try one change at a time and compare revisions.

Never. Exports are new files named after the revision, and your original is untouched.

AI separation needs a server with a graphics card running the separation model. When none is connected, the page says so. The on-device vocal remover still works without one.
