Boost a tab

Make one tab louder — up to 600% — without touching your system volume.

Chrome extension

Click the SoundBooster icon on a tab that's playing audio, then choose a level:

  • Presets — 100% Normal, 150% Boost, 200% Loud, 300% Extra, 400% Louder and 600% Maximum.
  • Slider — any level from 0% to 600% in 5% steps.
  • − / + — change the level in 25% steps.

The percentage multiplies the audio signal: 200% is about +6 dB and 600% about +15.6 dB. Because our ears hear roughly +10 dB as “twice as loud”, 600% sounds close to three times louder. Raise it gradually, especially on headphones.

While a tab is boosted, Chrome shows a small capture indicator on it. That's how Chrome tells you an extension is processing the tab's audio; nothing is recorded.
